Door Step School (on going in Mumbai/Pune regions)

ETC has been funding the Door Step Organization every year since 1999.  The Door Step Organization goes into the slums of India and through makeshift classrooms provides initial education to kindergarten, first and second grade children.   Additionally, the organization helps children get admitted to the closest municipal school.   Once admitted into the municipal school, the Door Step Organization helps the children with the transition, which may include learning the language spoken at the school.  The Door Step Organization helps the children build a good educational foundation so they have a better chance of succeeding in the municipal school system.

Number of children being supported:  214.
